Every bar of Rowandale soap has a story — and it starts with hooves. Our farm in Colden, NY is home to 32 adult goats and 37 baby goats, and they're not just our milk source. They're our coworkers, our therapy animals, and honestly, our best marketing team.
How It All Started
Rowandale began the way many great things do — with a wild idea and a lot of passion. Alice, a former chef, fell in love with the idea of making cheese from scratch. That dream led to goats. And goats, as it turns out, lead to everything else. What started as a cheesemaking adventure grew into a thriving farm, a soap business, and a goat therapy program that brings joy to visitors of all ages. That's what a calling looks like! Lining up our dreams with god's plans!
Life on the Farm
Our goats live a good life. They roam, they play, they headbutt each other affectionately (it's a love language). Baby goat season is pure chaos and pure magic — 37 kids will do that to a place. Their happiness directly affects the quality of their milk, which is why we prioritize their wellbeing above all else.
Goat Therapy — Yes, It's a Thing
Beyond soap, our goats offer something truly special: goat therapy experiences. Spending time with goats has been shown to reduce stress and boost mood — and anyone who's had a baby goat climb into their lap knows exactly why. We offer farm visits where guests can connect with our herd and experience the magic firsthand.
Our goats are the soul of Rowandale. Next time you lather up with one of our soaps, know that it came from animals who are loved, cared for, and probably currently getting into some kind of mischief. Happy goats make happy soaps!!!
